Jean Paul "Frenchie" Gondrum, 90, of Covington, IN died at 4:10 P. M. Friday May 21, 2021 at the Waters of Covington. He was born June 12, 1930 in France, the son of Alfred C. Gondrum and Marie Mader Gondrum.

Jean (French for John) survived World War II in France and moved to Covington about 1950. He was employed in the meat packaging department at the former Covington Food Lockers for several years, and was a barber for many years. He enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, camping, traveling, and swimming at Racoon Lake.

Surviving is a niece Amy Conlin, sister-in-law Pamela Conlin, both of Sequin, TX; friends, Hal and Colette Gayler, T. T. and Jenna Gayler, all of Covington, Verlinda Babb of Mellott. His parents, a brother Robert Conlin, and a nephew Sam Conlin preceded him in death.

Graveside services at 11:00 A. M. EDT Tuesday May 25, 2021 in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington with Father David Rasner officiating. Shelby Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com.
