Mary Katherine Adkins, age 73, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 5:43 pm Sunday, May 23, 2021, at her home.

Graveside service and burial will be held 11:00 am Friday, May 28, 2021, in the Grand View Burial Park. Rev. Steve Barker will officiate.

The family is being served by the Grand View Funeral Home.

Mary was born on April 2, 1948, in Hannibal, MO the daughter of Wilbur and Mary (Mikula) Whitley.

She was united in marriage to Norman H. Adkins on November 22, 1969, in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1993.

Survivors include a son, Kevin Adkins and wife Chrisy of Hannibal, MO; daughter, Mary I. Adkins of Hannibal, MO; brother, Gerald Whitley of Hannibal, MO; grandchildren, Bradyn Adkins, Abbey Adkins and Alysa Adkins all of Hannibal, MO; three nieces, Christina Brown (Lachlan) of Hannibal, MO, Amanda Edginton (Ben) of Oskaloosa, IA and Elyse Dugo (Kyle) of St. Charles, MO; and the many children she babysat over the years that referred to her as "Grandma".

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Adkins was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Perkins and sister-in-law, Janine Whitley.

Mary graduated from McCooey High School in the class of 1966.

Mrs. Adkins worked as a homemaker and also babysat several area children over the years.

Mary was a member of the Northeast Missouri Vietnam Veterans Group and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. Family was everything to Mary, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and always prepared a large Sunday meal for her family and anyone else who wanted to join them.

Mrs. Adkins was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
