John Everett Farrington, 1909 - 1995 (Obituary from an unidentified and undated local newspaper)

DIXFIELD - John Everett Farrington, 85, died Sunday [April 16, 1995] at the Dixfield Health Care Center where he had resided since 1988. He was formerly of East Andover and Rumford and was a lifelong resident of the area.

Mr. Farrington was born in Andover May 7, 1909, son of John and Effie (Harding) Farrington. He attended schools in East Andover.

Mr. Farrington owned and operated the Farrington Saw Mill and Shingle Mill for many years and later owned and operated Farrington's Garage in East Andover until retiring in 1973. He was married in Mexico on Dec.16, 1931, to Lila Murphy, who survives of Rumford.

Other survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Mary Laverna Brown of Auburn, Mrs. Joseph

(Geraldine) Parise of Rumford, Mrs. Daniel (June) Trenoweth of Mexico, Mrs. Albert (Carol) Nelson of East Stoneham, Mrs. Richard (Linda) Theriault of South Rumford and Mrs. Keith (Bonnie) Vashaw of Rumford; two sons, Frank of Norway and Reginald of Stafford Springs, Conn.; a brother, Henry of Rochester, N.H.; 28 grandchildren 36 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
