Kenneth M. "Kenny" Cameron, 63, died Friday, May 28, 2021, after an extended illness. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Byron Baptist Church, 100 West White Road in Byron, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM. Burial with honors will immediately follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, 720 South Camellia Boulevard in Fort Valley. Rev. Brian Stewart will officiate. 

  Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, to the late Gordon Kenneth "Pete" Cameron and Vera Jo Miller Cameron, Kenny began his lifelong career in law enforcement in April of 1980,  working with the Byron Police Department. In January of 1981, he joined the Peach County Sheriff's Department and spent the next forty years dedicated to serving and protecting the people and community of Peach County. He worked his way up in the ranks to Chief Deputy and achieved the rank of Major. He was a member of Chamlee Memorial Baptist Church. 

  Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 35 years, Beth Hodge Cameron; their sons, Matthew Kenneth Cameron and Jon-Michael Cameron (Sara); brothers, Michael Cameron (Connie), James Cameron, and Shawn Cameron (Cheryl); sister, Julie Cameron; brothers in law, Curt Hodge (Toni) and Chris Hodge (Melissa); sister in law, Becky Shelley; father in law, Jackie Hodge (Tandree); and numerous nieces, nephews, and many more family members and devoted friends. 

  In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Kenny's honor to the Georgia Sheriffs Youth Homes (georgiasheriffsyouth.org), 2048 Youngs Mill Road, LaGrange, GA 30241. Rooks Funeral Home in Byron is in charge of arrangements.
