In 1863 she was married to John G. Sutton, who preceded her to the spirit world some three years ago. To this union twelve children were born, two of whom died in infancy. The surviving are. Dr. L. Sutton of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Mary Kreutz, of Elkol, Wyo.; Mrs. Carried Jones, of Tarkio, Mo.; Mrs. Sarah McMahon, of Bancroft, Neb.; Mrs. Dollie Browning of Centerville, Kans.; Mrs. Gertrude Twiggs, of Maxton, Ariz.; Miss Hattie Sutton of Rock Port, Mo.
At an early age she was converted to the Christian faith, becoming a member of the M.E. church. Her life has been characterized by the most vigorous activity and tireless effort. As a wife and mother she was very devoted to her family. Her ten children were educated in college or university, largely through her effort and sacrifice.
