His Funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Federated Church in Mitchell with Dr. Charles H. Richardson officiating. Interment will be in the Mitchell City Cemetery with Masonic Rites under the auspices of the Mitchell Masonic Lodge #263.
Memorials may be made to the Federated Church or to the Panhandle Shrine Club for the Shrine Crippled Children's Hospitals.

Paul was born on a farm near Russell, Kan., March 14, 1914, to John and Mary (Herman) Heil. He and his family moved to Bayard in 1920, and he graduated from Bayard High School in 1932 as Class Valedictorian. Paul served in the U. S. Army, Ordinance Branch, from January of 1942 until January of 1946, including duty in the Philippines and in the occupation of Japan. On June 1, 1946, he married Pauline Eaton in Scottsbluff. They moved to Mitchell where they resided until 2002. Paul worked as a service manager at B & C Motor Company and Valley Chevrolet and then operated Heil Standard for many years and was a substitute rural mail carrier before his retirement. He served the community in a variety of roles including City Clerk, City Council member, President of the City Council, and Member of the Board of Public Works.
He was a member of the Federated Church, American Legion, Mitchell Masonic Lodge (Past Master), York Rite, and the Tehama Shrine Temple. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodcarving as hobbies.
Survivors include his wife Pauline of Gering; son and daughter-in-law, John and Karen Heil of Omaha; grandson and his wife, Paul and Jenny Heil of Coralville, Iowa; granddaughters, Katie Heil of Dubuque, Iowa, and Jenny Heil of Kirksville, Mo.; brothers and wives, Roy and Ann Heil and Ernest and Ruth Heil, all of Scottsbluff; nephew and wife, Harold and Ruth Heil of Bayard; sister-in-law, Marj Eaton of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Dorothy Heil of Hastings; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, eight sisters and five brothers.
