SUDDEN DEATH. — A very sudden
death took place in Beechworth last
Friday morning when Mr Albert
Braidwood, well known in the district,
passed away. The deceased had been
ailing for some time from stone in the
kidney, and was under Dr Skinner' s
treatment in the Beechworth hospital.
He left the hospital the previous
day expressing his intention of leav-
ing for his own home in Yackandandah,
on Friday morning. During
the night he took ill, and asked a
room mate in the hotel, where he
stayed for the night, to bring his
(deceased) mother and the doctor as
he felt he was dying. He soon after
became unconscious, apparently
taking a fit. Drs. Skinner and Haynes
were soon in attendance, but their
efforts were of no avail, his heart
having utterly collapsed, and he died
in the morning without regaining
consciousness.
A sad feature of the
case is that he leaves a widow, only
three months married. The bereaved
wife is a daughter of Mrs Barr, of
this town.
