John H. Tiderman, age 95, of Wickliffe, passed away May 11, 2021. He was born September 16, 1925 to the late Johan and Ida (nee Lindor) Tiderman .

He worked many years as a Prudential Insurance agent, retiring in 1986. Previously he installed radar on the ore carriers on Lake Erie. Later he joined the Wickliffe fire department and was a part time fire fighter for many years. Last but not least he worked for 17 years as a part time bailiff in Willoughby Municipal Court. He belonged to the American legion in Wickliffe, the National Railway Historical Society and Collinwood memories.

John was proud to serve his country in the Navy during World War II. He enjoyed attending many reunions with his shipmates from the USS Hampton APA 115. He loved golfing, camping, trains and was a diehard Cleveland Indians fan, making many trips to Winter Haven for spring training. Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Margie Tiderman; his daughter-in-law, Loraine Tiderman; his grandchildren, Kristy (Dave) McGee, Johnny E. Tiderman, Leah Johnson, Shawna (Julius) Chisholm, seven great grandchildren and friend and caregiver Pat House.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Vera J., his daughters, Kathy Johnson and Laurie Johnson; sons, John B. Tiderman and Rick Tiderman and brothers Gus and Herbert. John will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
