RALEIGH, N.C. - James Edward Forester, 58, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, after a lengthy illness.

Born and raised in Dade County, Ga., Jim served in the U.S. Navy after graduation from high school. He came to North Carolina in the early 1980s with his wife and her children to work with IBM. Their daughter, Natalie, was born shortly after their move to Raleigh.

Jim was predeceased by his wife, Erlene.

He is survived by children, Natalie Forester and fiancé, Patrick Privett, Angie Jackson and Anthony Jackson; five grandsons, Shane Robert Forester, Brannon, Christian, Calab and Tanner Jackson; brother, Larry Forester, and wife, Pat, and their children, Katy and Abby; and his mother, Mary Forester.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at Cloverdale Baptist Church in Rising Fawn, Ga.

Arrangements are by the Cremation Society of the Carolinas.
