Of Stephenson passed away on Tuesday June 1, 2021 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers, MI. Blackie was born August 13, 1927 in Stephenson to the late Frank and Bessie (Gagnau) Hood. He proudly served his Country in the United States Marine Corps. Blackie married the former Angeline Majkrzak on June 19, 1954 at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Stephenson. He owned and operated Skogmos Store in Stephenson for 31 years and also owned and operated Blackie's Bar for 5 years. He enjoyed doing yard work, hunting and fishing. Blackie was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife: Angie of Stephenson; 2 children: Deborah (Tom) Warren of Escanaba, MI and Tom (Audrey) Hood of Stephenson; 3 grandchildren: Matt (Heather) Warren of Kalamazoo, MI, Brian (Sara) Warren of Plainwell, MI and Mandy Kakuk of Stephenson, MI; 4 great grandchildren; and 1 sister: Joyce Schetter of Chicago, IL.
Blackie was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
