Funeral services for Mr. Alvin J. Shipman, 76, who entered into rest on May 5, 2020, will be held Wednesday evening at six o'clock at Dust To Dust Cemetery in Swansea. Pastor David A. Moore will be officiating.
Mr. Shipman was a native to Saluda, NC, spending his teenage years in Campabello, SC. He was born to William and Ola Shipman on July 6,1943. He made Lexington his home for the past 45 years. Mr. Shipman was a retired tree surgeon with over 40 years of service and spent many years building boats prior. He was predeceased by his parents, William (Ola) Shipman; three siblings, Eugene Shipman, Richard Shipman, and Mary Shipman.
Survivors include one son, Kevin (Beth) Shipman, Lexington; four grandchildren, Logan (Misty) Shipman, James (Morgan) Shipman, Daniel Shipman, and Tyler Shipman, Lexington; three nieces, Christy (Bobby) Harmon, Lexington, Mary Ann (Michael) Keim, Prosperity, Tammy (Brian) Maroney, Batesburg; one great nephew, Jordan Keim, Prosperity; two great nieces, Willow Maroney, and Brandy Maroney, Batesburg.
