Born Jan. 17, 1942 in Houtzdale, she was the daughter of Wesley and Lorna (Henderson) Haines.
Doris was a member of the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church, Houtzdale.
She was a 1960 graduate of Moshannon Valley High School and received her Associate degree in accounting from Kensington Business School , Buffalo, N.Y.
Doris was employed as a corporate accountant for Quick Chek in Whitehouse, N.Y. until her retirement.
She was a dedicated supporter of the Albrightsville Fire Company, Albrightsville.
Doris loved to read, go to music concerts, and travel, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
On Nov. 9, 1973, she married William R. Agans Sr., who preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 2005.
Doris is survived by a daughter, Justine (Al) Blew of Blakeslee; two sons, William R. (Dana) Agans Jr. of Harrisburg, Richard M. Pritchard of Brooklyn, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Samantha Bruder and her fiancé Brett Bellas, Robert W. Bruder, Jaley and Gabby Agans, Casey Musser; and four great grandchildren, Karl and Emma Bruder and Cayden and Dylan Bellas.
Also surviving are three brothers, Ralph (Autumn) Haines of Mechanicsburg, Gerald Haines of Phillipsburg, N.J., Donald Haines of Houtzdale; and two sisters, Sandra (Tom) Slack of Bound Brook, N.J., Norma Weaver of Pleasant Gap; along with numerous nieces and nephews and her companion Melvin Archer.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; and an infant sister Patricia.
The funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Justine Blew, 2006 Jackson Dr., Blakeslee PA 18610 to create a college fund for Doris's great grandchildren.
