Frederick A. Mowrey, 67, of Chillicothe, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at his residence, following a long courageous battle with cancer.

Fred was born July 2, 1953 to the late William C. Mowrey and Ruth (Stoops) Mowrey. On November 12, 1982, he was united in marriage to Sandra K. (Murray) Mowrey, who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Ciara Mowrey and her fiancé, Miles Lester of Dayton, Ohio.

Fred served in the United States Marine Corp from 1971-1973 and had worked at the Chillicothe VA for 43 years until his retirement in 2018.

Fred is survived by three sisters, Barbara Conley, Marie Mowrey, and Nina Graves. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Maggie Betts, Betty Fink, and Connie Mowrey; his brothers, Howard D. Mowrey, Glen Mowrey, and Johnny Mowrey. Fred is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no viewing or services. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
