Karl Folger, 24, formerly of McAlester, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Ada. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bishop Chapel of Memories with U.S. Navy Chaplain Nick Hamilton officiating. Full military honors will be provided by Battery Fox, 2nd Battalion 14th Marines of Oklahoma City. Arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Honorary pallbearers include members of the Battery Fox, 2nd Battalion 14th Marines of Oklahoma City. The family requests memorials be made to the Navy and Marine Corps Relief Society, 7641 Mercury Rd., Tinker Air Force Base, OK, 73145. Born Jan. 25, 1981, in Las Cruces, N.M., to Guy D. and Martha Lopez Folger, he graduated in 1996 from the eighth grade at Krebs school and graduated from McAlester High School in the class of 2000. He enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves where he was a lance corporal in Battery Fox, 2nd Battalion 14th Marines of Oklahoma City. He worked as a stocker at Wal-Mart while living in McAlester and later worked for Wal-Mart in Ada. He also worked for the Solo Cup Company in Ada. Survivors include his father and spouse, Guy and Cress Folger, of McAlester; his mother and spouse, Martha and David Allen, of Florida; three half-brothers, Scott Allen, of McAlester, Mark Summers, of Michigan, Chris Folger, of New York; three half-sisters, Elena Folger, of New York, Stephanie Folger, of Ohio, Karissa Folger, of McAlester. And, three nieces, Katelyn, Lindsay and Reagan Summers, of Michigan; a nephew, Sattwa Conrad, of New York; maternal grandmother, Rita Lopez, of New Mexico; paternal grandmother, Bonita Folger-Todd, of Ada; two uncle and spouse, Albert and Gloria Carreon, of El Paso, Texas, Don Folger, of Ada; special granny, Barbara Peterson, of McAlester, and numerous cousins and friends.
