Ana Lídia Braga was the youngest child of 7 years among the three children of a traditional middle class family. Anyway, the blonde girl with blue eyes, who lived in the North Wing of the newest capital of the country, was the protagonist of a mysterious and unpunished case until the present day.

On Tuesday, September 11, 1973, around 2 pm, Ana Lídia was dropped off by her family at the door of Colégio Madre Carmen Salles, however, she didn't even enter the classroom. Unfortunately, her disappearance only came to light in the late afternoon, when the family's maid picked her up from school.

Then, the gardener outside the school confirmed that he saw the girl talking to a young man and leaving together through a side gate. During his testimony to the police, he even pointed to Ana Lídia's brother, Álvaro Henrique, aged 18 at the time, when referring to the stereotype of the suspect.

Another witness stated that he saw Ana Lídia with a boy with different characteristics from those already mentioned. In addition, a little boy declared that he noticed when Ana Lídia entered accompanied by a male, in a car.

On the night of that same day, at 8 pm, police chief José Ribamar Morais received a call from the alleged kidnapper, who asked for 2 million cruzeiros in exchange for the girl's life. It is also reported that the child was placed on the line.

Only the next day was a handwritten letter found at the SAB Supermarket (near the condominium the family lived) addressed to the girl's father, informing that 500,000 thousand cruzeiros should be left on the Braghetto Bridge until Friday

However, surprisingly, the girl's objects were found on the edge of a thicket near the University of Brasília (UnB). Soon, the Civil Police began a thorough search of the land. So his naked body, complete with injuries, was found in a shallow grave.

At the site, marked by motorcycle tires, two condoms and pieces of toilet paper were found. Consequently, the cause of his death was presented by the coroners as asphyxia due to chest compression or airway obstruction, and it was also revealed that sexual intercourse was practiced with the corpse.

Therefore, on September 13, 1973 Ana Lídia Braga was buried in Campo da Esperança cemetery. Today, his tomb still receives countless visits daily.

The police followed the investigative line they suspected of Álvaro, the girl's brother, and an acquaintance of the family, Raimundo Lacerda Duque. The two were believed to have planned to kidnap the girl to raise money and then pay off a debt from drug trafficking.

Immediately, when he learned he was considered a suspect, Duque got false documents and was on the run for five months. An anonymous tip led to his capture in Conceição do Araguaia (GO), he later denied any involvement with the abduction and death of Ana Lídia.

In fact, Alfredo Buzaid Júnior, known as "Buzaidinho", son of the Minister of Justice at the time, and Eduardo Eurico Rezende, "Rezendinho", son of Senator, would be involved. Specifically, they would have received the girl, since they commanded the drug trade in Brasília.

Obviously, it didn't take long for the case to be hushed up: "Of a higher order, it is strictly prohibited to publicize through the written, spoken, televised media, comments, transcription, references and other materials about the Ana Lídia and Rosana case" - Police Federal.

Both expert examinations and an in-depth investigation were neglected. Therefore, the claim that his brother would be in the car with his family was not confirmed, there was no graphotechnical or fingerprint examination of the letter, not even comparison of the tire tracks with Álvaro's motorcycle and the genetic materials found were never confronted with the suspects. .

A few months later, a new witness, a drug user, appeared claiming that, in conversation with Álvaro, the suspect reported that he had paid a high price by entering this life, the death of his sister. The girl even went back and said that she invented everything. However, in an interview, he stated that he denied the story under pressure from influential politicians.

The Public Ministry filed a request to investigate drug trafficking in Brasília, however, the Ministry of Justice did not approve. Finally, the preventive detention of Duque and Álvaro was decreed, who, unfortunately, were acquitted for lack of evidence.

Regrettably, on September 11, 1993, the crime was prescribed without naming any culprits. Currently, only the girl's brother, Álvaro Henrique Braga, is alive.
