DR. BISHOP DIES IN SCOTLAND
Was Born in This City in 1870 and Engaged in Research Work

TO BRING BODY TO THIS CITY
Dr. James Bishop of the class of 1891 of Rutgers College, and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Bishop of this city, passed away in Scotland yesterday, a cable being received this morning by his brother, Dr. Louis F. Bishop, leading heart specialist in New York City. No details as to cause of death were received.

Dr. Bishop was born in this city in 1870, and was a graduate of Rutgers College, a classmate of Rev. Dr. Jasper S., Hogan, Rev. Dr. Howard H. Raven of this city, and Dr. Henry Lockwood of East Millstone. He was graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York in 1895 and was assistant surgeon to the Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital of New York from 1904 to 1908 and assistant general surgeon at the Presbyterian Hospital in 1908. Dr. Bishop was an authority on the diseases of the eye and ear and spent several years traveling abroad in research work. He was the author of many works on the eye and a contributor to many medical journals.

Dr. Bishop married Miss Margaret McD. Gregor Donald of New York City in April, 1900. He was a member of the New York Yacht Club, Larchmont Yacht Club, The Royal Firth Yacht Club of Scotland. His New York home was at 37 West Forty-fourth street and he always spent from June to November at Abbey Park House, Dumfermliine, Scotland.

Dr. Bishop because his wife, is survived by two brothers, Dr. Louis F. Bishop of New York and Dr. Elias Bishop of Connecticut.

The body will be brought to America and the funeral services held in the First Reformed Church, this city. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, this city.
