He leaves behind his wife, Carolynn Swearengin; his four daughters Joy Allen, Jennifer Saucer, Anna Grinstead and Amy Sawyer; Eleven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; His brother, David Swearengin and sister Norma Quie; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Reverend George Swearengin spent his life in ministry and in teaching. The driving passion of his life was to know God. He received his theology degree from Southeastern University, Master of Education from the University of Florida and he received his PhD from Logos Theological Seminary. He taught at several collegiate institutions in Oklahoma, and Florida as well as for Logos University. He spent time in Zambia, Africa as a missionary and helped establish an orphanage and school in Honduras. He authored two books; "Covenant Glory" and "I Give You Jesus."
