Age 94, of O'Hara Township, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 7, 2021. He was a graduate of Altoona High School and served in the U.S. Army. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting at Strayer University. He was a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation for more than 30 years. George loved the Lord and spent all his free time serving his church and others. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Lois M. O'Friel (Boland); his parents, George and Lillian O'Friel (Schell); his sisters, Mary Alice Curry, Lillian Gardener, Zita Milliron, Sr. Cornelia O'Friel, and Charlotte Bettwy; and his brothers, Edward O'Friel and Fr. Daniel O'Friel. He is survived by his sister, Sr. Clementine O'Friel; children, Mary Jeffrey (Guy), Cathy O'Friel, Ann Campbell (John), Tina Smith (Bob), Virginia Donahoe (Dan), Theresa Curran (Robert), and Lois Goss (Dan); grandchildren, George Jeffrey (Sarah), Carlin Campbell (Kristi), Amanda Caliendo (Bub), Rachael Paholich (Bill), Erin Donahoe, Lauren Donahoe, Shannon Donahoe, Kristen Donahoe, and Alex Goss; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Jack, and Reed Campbell, Christian and Luke Caliendo, Eloise and Charlotte Paholich, and Tyler Jeffrey. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 3-7pm at the THOMAS M. SMITH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, LTD., 930 Center Ave., Blawnox, PA 15238. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pio Parish/St. Edward Church, 450 Walnut Street, Blawnox, PA 15238 on Thursday morning at 10:30am. Everyone please meet at church. Private Burial at Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Harmarville, PA.
