Janice had two strokes at the age of 53. Slowly over time, she lost the use of her left side. She continued to work and would drag her left side around. Finally, she had to give up her job. She continued to do what she could with what she had. January of 2012 she fell and broke her good leg. She remained in a wheelchair from then until her death. Janice loved the Lord and wanted to go home. She could no longer care for herself in any way and she wanted to be with the Lord. Mike, her husband of 47 years, took great care of Janice for many years until his own health began to go down. They both got covid-19 and with all of her issues, she was unable to fight this off. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Buna Collier, her sister Bobbie Gayle Collier Badger. She is survived by her husband, one son, Brian Harp, his wife Cheri, two granddaughters, Brittany Harp, and her fiance Clyde Hensley, Allison Harp Fox, and her husband Jeff, three great-grandchildren, Connor Hensley, Kash Hensley, and Kylie Hensley. Two nephews, Robert Badger, Jr., and Matthew Badger. I can't tell you all of this without telling you about Lucy, their very sweet dog. She was all of about 5 lbs and they have had her for many years and loved her so much.
There is a sweet story about our family, Brothers married sisters so we had the same bloodline as siblings. We even had a DNA test done to see if it was really that way and indeed we are sisters. So in that light, she was proceeded in death by two brothers, Donald Ray Collier and Carman Fredick Collier, and one nephew Gregory Kitchens, and survived by two sisters, Alma Joyce Collier Kitchens, and Kathy Juanita Collier Smith.
