Born in Wilmington, DE on August 29, 1942, he was the son of the late Joseph and Clara (Denest) Grimaldi.
David graduated from Wilmington High School. He retired from the Red Clay School District, most recently working at Donald J. Richey Elementary School.
David was an avid knick knack collector and was especially fond of his extensive clock collection. He loved working in his yard and always kept it meticulously maintained. At an early age, David enjoyed watching wrestling shows.
Every year, he looked forward to family vacations in Wildwood, NJ and collected many photos that captured those beautiful memories.
In addition to his parents. David was preceded in death by daughter, Daniele Albanese.
David is survived by his son, David J. Grimaldi, Jr. (Katrina); grandchildren, Jacob, Frankie, and Theresa Blunt and Joey Grimaldi; and sister, Vinnie Citrow.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm on Monday, June 14, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will be held at 12 pm.
A private interment will be held in All Saints Cemetery.
Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the CDC and Governor of Delaware.
