Was born Dorothy Lane, mother Mrs. Doris Lane of New York City. First adopted by Peter and Anna Brusell in 1917 in Newark, New Jersey her name changed to Stella Sultana Brusell. In 1917 travels to Boston with her adopted mother and in 1919 to Denmark. 1920, 2nd adoption by Edward West and Nelle Adele Browning of New York City, her name changed to Dorothy Sunshine Browning. Attends Rasin School for Girls, a private school. She studies several languages, music, choral music, ridding and piano, graduates a year ahead of her class in 1933. 1934 travels all 48 states with friends and her first husband. 1936 wins blue ribbons for her dogs from the North Carolina Kennel Club. During her younger years she excels as an accomplish pianist. She plays tennis and accomplishes herself with marksmanship with a rifle and with bow. During World War II she does volunteer work and becomes an LPN. After the death of her first husband in 1944, she moves to New York City from North Carolina. 1945 purchases a house in Eastchester, New York. During the 1950's is part of the Women's Fire Auxiliary and Canasta Club, travels with her second husband and family to places along the US East Coast to visit friends and family. in 1960 travels with her husband, Tom to various places in Europe. By the mid 1960's her health declines.
