Doug was born April 1, 1940 in Alameda County Ca. He was a professional Ice skater with an Ice Show. Later, he worked as a waiter in the Palm Springs area. After a serious motorcycle accident he worked odd jobs as a handyman and did site cleanups. He lived in various communities in the Desert, including Desert Edge, Indio Hills and Desert Hot Springs He also lived in Orange County for a bit. He moved to the Hemet area more than 15 years ago.
In 1975 he became a member of the Baha'i Faith, he referred to Valarie Bourque as his "Spiritual Mother". He served on the Local Spiritual Assembly of Desert JD. For many years.
