At a young age the family moved to Deer Creek, Oklahoma and later moved to Whiteface, Texas where she graduated high school. Darlene attended and completed Draughns Business School. The family returned to Hominy, where she went to work as a temporary employee for Hominy Public Schools.
She met the love of her life Darrel Wilson after she backed into a pole getting her car stuck where he worked. They were married on June 11, 1960 at First Baptist Church in Hominy. In 1964 they welcomed a baby girl-Tonya and in 1967 a son-Roby. The family made their home in Hominy.
Darlene was later hired full time at Hominy Public Schools. She worked as the junior high secretary and was later promoted to Business Manager. She retired in 2014.
Darlene loved to sew, do needlework, read her bible and attend her grandkids functions. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hominy. She loved doing things with her church friends.
Darlene is survived by: daughter, Tonya Wilson-Peel and husband Bill of Peru, KS; grandson, Will Grantham and wife Seanna of Bethany, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Alice Grantham of Cleveland, Oklahoma; grandson, Colten Wilson of Stillwater, Oklahoma; great-granddaughter, Sidney Grantham of Bethany, Oklahoma; great grandson, Aydin Boyd of Cleveland, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews, and a very dear friend Deonne Morris of Hominy, Oklahoma.
Darlene was preceded in death by: parents, Roby and Viola Wilson; husband, Darrel; granddaughter, Darrah Lynn Grantham; son, Roby Wilson.
Darlene requested to be buried by Darrel.
