Cerney , Mercedes L. 86, of Moose Lake Formerly of St. Paul Died Sunday, April 24, 2005, in Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. She was born May 8, 1918, in St. Paul to Charles J. and Jane (O'Brien) Cerney. Mercedes was very proud to be a WWII Marine Veteran, serving from 1943 to 1945. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake as well as the Women's Marine Association. Mercedes is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marie Caroline, Marge Chapin, Veronica Schumacher, Maydesta Cerney; infant sister, Eva; brothers, Charles, Clifford, Perc, and infant brother, Paul; good friend, Harold. Mercedes is survived by brother, Gerald O. Cerney of New London, WI; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 27, from 10AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial in HOLY ANGELS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Moose Lake. Interment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Arrangements are with HAMLIN-HANSEN-KOSLOSKI FUNERAL HOME, Moose Lake.
