Arletta M. Bair, 80, of Navarre, passed away peacefully but unexpectedly, while surrounded by her family, late Sunday evening, May 30, 2021.
Born in Massillon, April 29, 1941, a daughter to the late Paul and Marie (Steiner) Barr, Arletta graduated from the former Navarre High School with the Class of 1959. She worked briefly as a keypunch operator for Republic Steel Corp. before leaving the workforce to become a full-time wife and mom. After her children were grown, she fulfilled her wish to study nursing and completed the LPN program at the Aultman School of Nursing. She then returned to work at Hanover House until her retirement.

A life-member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Navarre, Arletta was a member of the church choir and very active in her faith community. But first and foremost, Arletta was a devoted wife – a farmer's wife, as she had always wanted to be; and a loving and supportive mom, grandma and great-grandma. Her faith, her husband and family – and the family farm were at the center of her life. She loved her animals, big and small, and enjoyed camping and fishing with the family when time allowed.

Predeceased by her parents and her husband, Leonard E. "Ed" Bair, Sr., Arletta is survived by her children, Christine M. Bair, Leonard E. "Ed" (Kristine) Bair, Jr. and William P. (Monica) Bair, all of Navarre. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Melissa (Corey) Hoover, Matthew Bair (and fiancee Jessica Christman), Rebecca Bair (and fiancé, Kyle Goist), Kaitlyn (Andy) Brenner, Jessica (Carmine) Russo, Jennifer (Charles) Bachman and Sarah (Paul) Kenosky; twelve great-grandchildren – with another on the way; and her sister, Mrs. Janet Garver.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2021, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Navarre. Rev. Steve Johnson will officiate, and burial will follow at Union Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive condolences on Thursday evening, June 3, from 6-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to either St. Paul UCC Memorial Fund or Aultman Hospice and Compassionate Care Center.
