“Patricia Grace, 45, Resident of Kincaid Area, Dies Today”
Patricia A. Grace, 45, of Kincaid died at 12:25 a.m. today, Saturday, August 27, 1977, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. She had been in ill health for the past five months.
Ms. Grace was born March 7, 1932 in Kincaid, the daughter of Michael and Ada Alice (Manuel) Burke. She worked as a laboratory pathologist for seven years at Herrin Hospital in Herrin. Ms. Grace was a 1950 graduate of South Fork Community High School in Kincaid. She was also a 1954 graduate of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston and a 1955 graduate of Mayo College School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. She was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kincaid.
Surviving are her son, Michael Grace of Kincaid; two sisters, Mrs. Clifford (Margaret) Freeman of Port Richey, Florida and Ms Betty Borgognoni of Kincaid; four brothers, Patrick (wife, Margaret) Burke of Kincaid, Charles (wife, Jean) Burke of Taylorville, Joseph William (wife, Lois) Burke of Farmersville and Robert (wife, Roberta) Burke of Joliet; one half-brother, Michael Sr. (wife, Mary) Burke of Backworth, England; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John Burke, Bernard Burke and James Burke; and one half-brother, James Burke.
Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday, August 29, 1977, at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid. Father Bernard Meyer officiated, with burial following at Calvary Cemetery in Pawnee.
Pallbearers were Phillip Burke, Dana Lane, Paul Bogan, Charles Burke, Bernard Burke and William Borgognoni.
