Mona Ann Blue New, 90, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2021. She was born December 28, 1930 in Pensacola, FL to parents Archie Dewey Blue and Annie Parker Blue. She and her younger brother, Gerald Douglas Blue, were raised by their mother and stepfather Christopher David Bugg. Mona met her future husband, Francis H.M. New, Jr. in high school. She graduated from business college as salutatorian of her class. Mona married Francis in 1952 while enrolled at Clemson A&M College (n/k/a Clemson University). They lived in Greenville, SC and Hendersonville, NC before moving to Jacksonville, FL to be closer to her parents. She worked for the Southern Bell telephone company for almost 30 years.

Mona was a faithful daughter, loving wife, and devoted mother to her two children. She and Francis were inseparable throughout their 68 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughter, Dianne New (Jacksonville, FL), son, Chris New, daughter- in- law, Randi New, (Bainbridge, GA), and granddaughters Caroline New (Ann Arbor, MI), Sarah Anne New (Bainbridge, GA), and Emily New, (Charlotte, NC).
