Elroy J. Emerich, 63 of 112 S. Genesee St. died on Sunday, October 13, 1974 at his home.

Mr. Emerich was born on May 2, 1911 in the Town of Berlin in Marathon County, the son of Mrs. Mathilda Emerich living at Pine Crest Nursing Home, and the late John Emerich. On December 14, 1935 he married Frances Fehr (name is very hard to read), she survives.

Mr. Emerich was the co-owner of Quality Furnace Company with Elmer Krause from 1951 to 1964. He then began operation of Emerich's Burnet service which he operated until he retired last year due to illness.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Men's Club of the Church, he served as past chairman of the trustees and was a past member of the board of trustees. Mr. Emerich was also a member of the Lincoln County Sportsman's Club and the Merrill Lions Club.

Survivors besides his wife include a daughter Mrs Judythe Hass of Russell, IL; and a son Jack Emerich of Elgin, IL; three brothers, Harvey of Pine St, Raymond of Route 4, and Vilas of W Main St, and a sister Mrs Myra Waldenburg of W Main St, all of Merrill.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 16, 1974 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. The Rev. Donald Schulz and the Rev. Stephen Koenig officiated and burial was in Merrill Memorial Park.
