Robert Robinson was baptised on the 28th December 1802 at St Mary Magdalene Church in Taunton.

He was the son of James Alexander a cutler and his wife Mary (nee Dell).

on the 22nd May 1825 at St John Horsleydown in Bermondsey.

Robert and Mary had four children:-
Mary 1826-1848 died Camara Square in Chelsea;
John 1828-1917 died Rochester, Monroe, New York, USA;
Eleanor 1830-1918 died Edwin St, Croydon, New South Wales;
William Henry 1833-1918 died Petersham, New South Wales.

Robert and Mary lived in Axminster and Honiton in Devon, Bermondsey in Surrey and also Newport in Wales where Robert was implicated in the Chartist movement.

Robert was buried at St James on the 17th April. Died in the House of Correction Amwell aged 41, the cause of death was given as "Natural a prisoner epilepsy". He was an agent to a Brewer when on the 23rd October 1843 he was indicted for embezzlement at the Old Bailey in London and found "GUILTY. Aged 41.—Recommended to mercy. — Confined One Year".
