JEFFERSONVILLE - Cecil Augustus Fountain, Sr. 85, of Myricks Mill Rd. passed away Monday June 14, 2021 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday June 18, in the chapel of Reece Funeral Home. Elder Dan Bryant and Harold Reece, Jr. will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Fountain was born in Gordon, GA to the late J.C. Fountain and Thelma Brooks Fountain McNeal. He was proceeded in death by his wife Glenda Sims Fountain and his sister Robbie Wilson. Mr. Fountain served his country as a United States Marine during the Korean War. He was also a farmer, genealogist, former owner of the Twiggs New Era, he was the Twiggs County Planning and Zoning Inspector. Mr. Fountain was also a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, and was a loving father and "PawPaw".

Survivors include his children, Jim (Tina) Fontaine, Debbie (Roger) Atkins, Donna (Donnie) Pierce, Karen (Lee Stringer) Burke, and Cecil (Tracie) Fountain, Jr. Grandchildren, Christina Fontaine, Chris Patat, Holly (Michael) Prather, Mari (Patrick) Fontaine, Derek (Kathryn) Burke, Clay (Jessie) Lavender, Brandon (Whitney) Fontaine, Candace (Michael) Gibson, Rachel (Josh) Thigpen, Brandon Fountain, Trey Fountain, and Nathan Atkins. Nineteen great grandchildren. Sisters, Dollie (Russell) Sheffield, Sandra (Frank) McDaniel and Brenda (John Wayne) Calvert.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 am Friday before the service.
