The death of Mrs. Sarah Beaman at Willow Springs last Thursday morning removes from this county one of the earliest settlers. She was 56 years of age and died of pneumonia. The remains were brought to West Plains for interment in Oak Lawn cemetery. Rev. Roy P. Basler conducted a short funeral service.
Mrs. Beaman was the daughter of "Uncle Jack" Collins, a pioneer Methodist minister of this section, who was a charter member of Mt. Zion Lodge No. 327 A.F. & A.M. of this city and the first to worshipful master of the lodge.
The decedent is survived by four brothers, Thomas A. Collins and Brooks Collins of Siloam Springs, Ark.: Mack Collins, Custer, Okla., and David C. Collins, Hilton, Okla., and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Sparks, Kenton, Texas and Mrs. Mary Nichols, Weatherford, Okla. The two brothers from Siloam Springs, Ark., were here to attend the funeral.
