He married Betty Alsup Andrew in 1949.

William Andrews graduated from the Whitewright Schools and attended Austin College, in Sherman, Texas. He entered the service Sept 1943 and trained as a Radar Technician in the Army Air Corps. Served Baffa Island, Canada. Obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant.
