GARRY BOGGS
(1952-2021)
Gary "Perkins" Boggs, resident of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021, in Hospice Care at Carter Nursing & Rehabilitation in Carter County, at the age of 69 years.
He was born on April 4,1952 in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Claude and Lillie Jeffrey Boggs.
Gary was raised in the Lawton area of Olive Hill and worked as a yuke driver at Ken-More Stone. He also worked as a Horse-Trainer for Oppenheimer Stables as well as Bobby Morrison Farms. Gary enjoyed coon-hunting and playing cards and he loved to spend time with his hunting buddies at Walker's Restaurant.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella "Penny" (Cline) Boggs (October 2, 2012); four brothers, Eddie Boggs, Roger Boggs, Caney Boggs and George Boggs; and four sisters, Cathy Boggs, Linda (Boggs) Stone, June (Boggs) Porter and Pauline (Boggs) Parish.
He will be sadly missed by his two children, Joann (Rodney) Gilbert and Rachel Boggs; one granddaughter, Marissa Gilbert; as well as his four brothers, Donnie Boggs, Ellis (Jennifer) Boggs, Verl (Valentina) Boggs and Timmy (Donna) Boggs. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Steve Madden officiating. Burial will follow in the Cline Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky. Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2021, and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
