Nancy Elizabeth Odell Wartick was born in Hendrix Co., Indiana May 3, 1842, and departed this life May 26, 1930 at the age of 88 years and 23 days.
She moved to Camp Point, Illinois when a child and lived there until coming to Kansas in 1896.
She was married to Joseph Wartick, August 23, 1866; to this union were born to children, John ALvin who died in infancy and William Sherman who grew to manhood. They also assisted in rearing five other children.
Mrs Wartick united with the Christian Chrch when quite young and was devoted Christian until the end.
She leaves to mourn her departure one son, Wm. S. Wartick of Atlanta, Kansas; one sister, Mrs. Susan Foster of Wichita; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
Mrs. Wartick formerly lived in Leon and was wellknown and loved.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church at Lean conducted by Rev. J L. Renner, pastor of the Leon M. E. Church. Interment was made in Leon Cemetery.
