Services are today at 2:30 p.m. at Crenshaw United Methodist Church. Rev. Ricky Haynes will officiate. Burial will be in Longtown Cemetery near Crenshaw, Mississippi. Kimbro Funeral Home has charge.
Bennett, born Feb. 20, 1912, in Jackson, Tennessee, was a retired elementary school teacher for Crenshaw schools, active in UMW, a graduate of Delta State Teachers College, a member of Crenshaw United Methodist Church and an avid gardener. She also served on the board of the Regional Library of Hernando.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Loyd Bennett. Survivors include one daughter, Loretta Turner Ray of Hot Springs, AR; one son, Paul Bennett of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Crenshaw United Methodist Church or Quapaw Care and Rehab Center, 138 Brighton Terrace, Hot Springs, Ark., 71913.
