Ila Ione Powell Pace, 92, passed away Thursday, June 24th, at Lakewood Assisted Living.
Mrs. Pace was born in Spartanburg on September 21, 1928, a daughter of the late Laura Ophelia Hightower Powell and Bookter Powell. She was the widow of James Carroll Pace Sr.
She retired from Inman Mills and was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church where she had been active in the TEL Sunday School Class, the Bereavement Committee, and the Tape Ministry. She had also been a volunteer for Mobile Meals for 19 years.
She is survived by a son, James C. Pace, Jr and his wife, Dianne, of Inman; a daughter, Nancy P. Brink and her husband, Howard, of Inman; four grandchildren, Richard C. Pace, Angela P. Morris, Christopher Brink, and Timothy Brink; eight great grandchildren, Taylor Morris, Logan Morris, Avery Morris, Kelsey Pace, Brooklyn Pace, Aiden Brink, Palmer Brink, Carson Brink; and a sister in law, Rachel Corn Holder of Boiling Springs, who has been an earthly angel and wonderful caregiver for her.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Pace was predeceased by four sisters, Alliene Hunt (Charles), Lila Suddeth (Dean), Madge Reid (CL), and Minnie Lee Ravan (Ray) and four brothers; Milton (Margaret), Hilton (Ruth), Charles (Angie), and Floyd Powell (Gladys).
The family will receive friends 10:00 am until 10:45 am Saturday, June 26th at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am conducted by Rev. Timothy Brink and Rev. Dwayne Morris in Seawright Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman.
