Lingering Illness Has Claimed 84-Year-Old Woman
Mrs. Anna Zeddies, 84, one of Mishicot's oldest residents, succumbed to a lingering illness at her home Saturday evening. She suffered a stroke several years ago.
Funeral services in the German language will be conducted at the residence Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. and in English at St. Peter's Lutheran church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Edward Zell will officiate and burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Zeddies, whose maiden name was Anna Krause, was born in the province of Posen, Germany, Oct. 15, 1850. She came to this country in 1868 and on Sept. 28 of the same year she was married to Adolph Zeddies. For eight years after their marriage, they resided in the Town of Kossuth. They spent a few years at Oregon and then moved to a farm in the Town of Mishicot.
In 1913 they moved to a home in the village of Mishicot where they observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1918. Mr. Zeddies, a Civil War veteran, died in 1922.
The survivors are the following daughters and sons, Mrs. Henry Redeker, Mrs. Henry Meisner and Mrs. Max Reinke, all of Mishicot; Charles Zeddies of Canada and Adolph Zeddies of Mishicot. She is also survived by one brother, Charles Krause of Shoto, one sister, Mrs. Alex Dusold of Manitowoc, 36 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
