Georgie Lee Acker Stacey age 91 of McCalla Alabama was born on March 3, 1930 to Adolphus Cratton Acker and Abbie Louvinia Taft Acker and passed away on June 23, 2021. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Edward Stacey Sr., her son Archie Lee, her grandson Robert Tanner Hill, brothers John, Ephraim, AC , and Buddy; sisters, Zillie, Thelma, Mary (Puggie) and Mamie.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Jr. (Bettie Ann), Larry (Janet), Dexter (Linda), Phillip (Terri) and daughters, Laura (Mike), Tonya (Doug), 21 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
She had a smile that would light up the world, she never met a stranger, loved everyone, and during her life she spent years caring for several members of her extended family and friends.
She worked in several places during her life and retired from the Bessemer Board of Education, however, her greatest life's work was being a wife, mother and granny and she will be sorely missed by all of those she loved and who love her.
There will be a visitation to honor her on Friday evening, June 25th from 5-7 at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home in Hueytown, AL. Her funeral service will be Saturday morning, at 11 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 831 Briarwood Drive, Bessemer, AL with a viewing immediately preceding the service from 10-10:45.
Her body will be laid to rest at Hickman Chapel Cemetery in McCalla, AL.
