Karla Marilee Halfmoon, 25, of Pendleton died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 at her home. A dressing ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening followed by a short Washat Service, also at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at St. Andrew's Mission followed by burial at Agency Cemetery.

Karla was born on Aug. 23, 1982 in Portland. She was raised in the Pendleton area, attending Washington Elementary, Riverside Indian School and Pendleton High School.

In 2002 she was involved with the Salmon Corps, working to repair the disappearing salmon habitats of the Columbia River Basin, and she was also trained as a firefighter. She was employed as a waitress at Wildhorse Casino.

Her interests included music, gardening, interior decorating, movies, travel, football, basketball, social events and spending time with friends and family. She especially enjoyed photography.

She was preceded in death by sister Marsha Halfmoon.
