Ruby D. "Mub" Gragg, 86, Cherry Grove Road, Somerset, died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at her home.

She was born September 25, 1918 in Pulaski County, a daughter of the late Esker and Iva Blanche Randall Parkey. She was a retired teacher, and a member of East Somerset Baptist Church. She earned her B.S. and M.A. degrees from Eastern Kentucky University. She loved to eat out, bowl, and visit with close friends.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis G. (and Jane) Gragg and Joe Dexter Gragg, both of Somerset; three daughters, Sharon Lee Gragg of Somerset, Glenda B. Withers of Somerset, and Carol Faye (and Tom) Barker of Burlington, Kentucky; a brother, Sherman (and Sharon) Parkey of Somerset; two sisters, Pauline Beasley and Vera Richardson, both of Somerset; two brothers-in-law, Joe Lee Gragg and Archie (and Bessie) Gragg; two sisters-in-law, Ella Maude Fulcher and Virginia (and Dexter) Alexander; ten grandchildren, Virginia Cheré Tiller, Melissa Jopes, Steven Wallace, John Wallace, Jeff Gragg, Melinda Bray, Katrinia Randall, Carla Hall, Thomas Glenn Barker, and Adam Gragg; 12 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin Gragg, whom she married July 17, 1937 in Somerset and who died May 26, 2001; a brother, Glen Parkey; a sister, Edna Whitaker; and a son-in-law, Donald Withers.

A funeral service will be held Monday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at Somerset Undertaking Company with Rev. Don Branscum officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
