DEATH OF MRS. CORA SPENCER
DECATUR, Ind., Feb 10 -- The body of Cora Hower Shady Spencer, forty-one, wife of Dent Spencer, was brought to the family home on North Third Street, this city, Saturday afternoon, from the St. Joseph hospital, Fort Wayne, where death occurred. She had been ill for three weeks of influenza, which aggravated a choronic trouble. An operation was decided necessary, but this was delayed, awaiting a return of her strength. The husband, to whom she was married only last August 31, at the home of her mother, Mrs. Ella Foster, in Fort Wayne, and a daughter, Edna Shady, by a former marriage, survive. The deceased was born May 4, 1878, near Magley, being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin V Hower. She served as a waitress for a number of years in a local restaurant.
