Funeral services for E. H. Swearingen, 57, who died Friday at his home, 287 Boulevard street, following a long illness, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Osborn funeral chapel. The Rev. W. A. Alexander, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate. Burial will be In Forest Park cemetery. Pallbearers will be R. L. Long, L. M. Crow, W. M. Plaster, Harry Frazee, K. E. Tedford, and P. M. Cowden. Mr. Swearingen, a native of Kansas City, Kan., is survived by his widow, Mrs. Belle Swearingen; a son, Gordon Swearingen; a sister, Mrs. Alta Reeves of Denver, Colo., and a grandson. A prominent oil man of Shreveport, Mr. Swearingen became connected with the oil business when he moved here 12 years ago. For five years, he was associated with the Crow Drilling company. He later became an independent dealer In oil field equipment and leases.
