Mrs. Haught died Sunday, June 2, 1991, at her home.
She was born July 29, 1911, in Kansas City, Mo., to Errett S. and Charlotte Kraft Rhoads. She attended the University of Missouri, received her master's degree in education from Adams State College, Alamosa, Colo., and an education specialist degree from Kansas University. She lived in Lawrence from 1959 to 1986. She taught at Pinckney School and retired from Hillcrest School. She was a member of the 1960 White House Conference on Children.
Mrs. Haught was a member of the First Congregational Church, played in the Senior Rhythm Band at the Emporia Senior Center, was a former member of the Junior League and Mozart Music Club in Kansas City, the PEO Sisterhood in Lawrence, the National Education Assn. and the Kansas-NEA.
She married Walter Dixon Haught on June 27, 1931. He was a former vice president and director of the trust department at Lawrence National Bank. He died April 17, 1986.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen R., Emporia, and William D., Little Rock, Ark.; a daughter, Carolyn B. Strom, Allen's Park, Colo.; a sister, Sara J. Rhoads, Laramie, Wyo.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
