The Rev. Alvie Wayne Ware, 86, Fredonia, Kansas, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at Golden Living Center in Fredonia.

He was born April 2, 1921, in Boise, Idaho, to Benjamin and Crystal (Busby) Ware.

On Jan. 6, 1942, he married Ferne Parker in Toronto, Kansas. She preceded him in death on Oct. 28, 1992.

He was a retired ordained minister, having worked in Nazarene & Wesleyan churches in McCune, Garnett, Howard, Fredonia, Fall River and Toronto, Kansas.

He was a member of the Calvary Wesleyan Church, Fredonia, KS.

Survivors include a son, Carl Ware, of Chanute, KS; a daughter, Ruby Stalder, of Chanute, KS; a brother, Earl Ware, of Pueblo, CO; a sister, Bonnie Wylie, of Humboldt, KS; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wynonia Henson; a grandson; a great-grandson; two sisters; and a brother.

Graveside services will be at the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home, Fredonia, KS.
