Alta M. Trader Williams, 87, of New Martinsville, WV died Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at her home.

Alta was born April 17, 1934 in BeBee, WV; daughter of the late Curtis and Phoebie (Blake) Goddard.

She was a retired cook for Wetzel County Schools, former cook for Wetzel County Hospital and prior to that Alta was clerk for the A&P store, enjoyed collecting glassware, going to yard sales, making hand crafts and gardening. She was a member of the Steelton Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Trader; six siblings, Ralph Goddard, Bernard Goddard, Lemuel Goddard, Glen Goddard, Evelyn Moler and Kenneth Goddard.

Surviving are her husband, Homer E. Williams; son Edwin (Erika) Trader of Hurricane, WV; daughter Beverly (Greg) Morris of Pine Grove, WV; two grandchildren children, Evan Trader and Eden Trader and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 4-7 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2021 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, where services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, July 3, 2021 with Ed Melott officiating. Burial to follow in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville.
