Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2021, at Village Chapel for Jo Ann Rose Stone, 88, of Altoona, who went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 1, 2021. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of the service Friday at Village Chapel. Ray Lowery will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Mountain View Cemetery, Webster Chapel.
Jo Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She was God's faithful servant and a member of 7th Day Christian Fellowship. Jo Ann is having a happy reunion with all of her family who has preceded her in death: her husband, Jerry Stone; son, Mark Anthony Roper; parents, Barney D. and Edna Hill Rose; 5 sisters; 1 brother; and numerous other family members.
She is survived by her son, Mike (Oeida) Roper; daughter, Tammy (Ronnie) Igou; grandchildren, Justin Roper, Andrew Roper; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Egypt Volunteer Fire Department.
