Wayne D. (Carol) Johnston, 50, a former resident of Proctor, died Saturday in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was born in Proctor and had lived in Wichita Falls since 1973. He retired as a technical sergeant in 1973 after 23 years in the Air Force. He was a Vietnam veteran and received the Commendation Medal and the Air Medal. Surviving, besides his wife, are two daughters, Elaine and Traci, and three sons Chris, Wayne Michael and Dale, all of Wichita Falls; his mother, Gertrude Johnston of Proctor; a sister, Ella Bishir of Houston, Texas, and three brothers, Carl R. of Houston, Robert G. of Proctor and Lyle E. of Cloquet. Services and burial will be in Duluth with arrangements by the Bell Brothers Funeral Home.
