Mrs. Florie Bays age 83 of Corbin, Kentucky departed this life on Monday, July 5, 2021. She was born on July 18, 1937, in Knox County, the daughter of Charles Swafford and Fannie (Merida) Hensley. She was a member of the Church of God at Artemus. She enjoyed cooking and loved helping people.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jay Bays, one son, Willie Woodrow Bays, one grandchild, Jessica Bays, her brother, Gilbert Hensley, and a two sisters, Gracie Searcy and Laurie Eversole.

Left behind to mourn her passing, two sons, Marvin Bays and wife Geraldine of Bimble and Randall Bays of Barbourville, one brother, Rev. Columbus Hensley of Corbin and one sister, Altie Allen of Cincinnati, Ohio, six grandchildren, Mark Bays, Travis Bays, Tracy Hensley, Jacob Bays, Brittany Bays and Marlena Bays, fifteen great grandchildren, Maddox Bays, Ryan Bays, Skyler Hill, Holly Hill, Conner Bays, Travor Bays, Xavier Bays, Mason Bays, Madelline Hensley, Hailey Bays, Lily Carnes, Cameron Jackson, Chloe Bays, Jacob Bays and Brayden Bays. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Mrs. Florie Bays will be conducted on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glenn Collins officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
