AGE 74 YEARS
UNITED STATES ARMY VETERAN/ VIETNAM WAR

Alfred W. Goddard of Medford, passed away July 1st, peacefully at the Spaulding Hospital of Cambridge. Born and raised in Medford he was the son of the late Alfred J. and Doris Mae (Murray) Goddard. A Medford resident for virtually all of his life, Al graduated from Medford High School and then served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was decorated for valor with the Bronze Star Medal. He earned the Combat Infantry Badge as well as the Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars. Al enjoyed a 54 year career with Stop and Shop. He served many positions and worked at many locations during his years. In his later years in management, he oversaw training in several locations. Wherever he worked and no matter what his responsibilities where, he carried them out well and earned the admiration of his co-workers and customers.

Beloved husband of Judy L. (Baker) Goddard. Devoted father of Brian J. Goddard and his wife Lynn of Wakefield, Sharon Accolla and her husband Peter of North Reading, the late Sherry Horgan and her surviving husband Michael of Everett. Loving grandfather of 5 grandchildren. Dear brother of Cindy Ellis and Pamela Reed.
