Veteran Algiers Physician Dead; Burial Due Today
Dr. Alfred C. King Succumbs After long Illness
Funeral services for Dr. Alfred C. King, 64 year old, veteran Algiers physician who died Saturday, will be held at his home, 2020 Farragut Street, at 10 a.m. today. Dr. King succumbed after an illness of several months. Interment will be in Metairie cemetery.
A native of Mounds, La., the son of the late W. B. King, Louisiana planter, and Mrs. Julia Frazier King. Dr. King was educated in a private school in Baton Rouge. In 1895 he was graduated from the Tulane University Medical School, and since then he has practiced medicine in Algiers.
He was a member of the Orleans Parish Medical Society, the Souther Medical Association, the Louisiana State Medical Association and the American medical Association. he served on the listing staffs of Hotel Dieu and Charity hospital and was a professor of surgery in the postgraduate medical school of Tulane University.
Dr. King is survived by his widow, the former Miss Minnnie Thomson of Delhi, La,; three brothers, J. B. King of Tylertown Miss., and S. H. King and Dr. Edward L King of New Orleans; and two sisters; Mrs. A. D. Lewis of Alexandria, La., and Mrs. L. F. Magruder of Norfolk, Va.
